Dear Members, Community Friends and Veteran Supporters:

The Montford Point Marine Association, Inc., Chicago Chapter 2 (MPMA, Inc.) invites you to join us as we celebrate our 53rd Anniversary Black Tie Awards Luncheon, October 26, 2019 in Chicago, Illinois.

MPMA, Inc. is a 501(c) 3 non-profit veteran service organization established in 1966 to perpetuate the legacy of the Montford Point Marines, the first African Americans who entered the Marine Corps and trained at a segregated boot camp located in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina from 1942-1949. The Montford Point Marines were awarded the Congressional Gold Medal on June 27, 2012. A United States Naval Vessel, the USS Montford Point, was dedicated on March 13, 2013 and a monument was dedicated on July 27, 2018, in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, to honor their contributions to implement social change in the Marine Corps and the United States of America. Now in existence for over fifty years, MPMA, Inc. continues to strive to expand its programs and offerings to the community. Our membership is open to veterans of all of the Armed Forces. Our purpose is to support education, advocate veteran programs, and promote community service.

In order to meet our mission and provide services within our community, we rely on the generosity of individuals and businesses. We are asking for your support by placing an ad in our 53rd Anniversary Journal. Your generosity will make a huge difference by allowing us to continue our community work and would be a great way to show your ongoing support to our Association and the legacy of the Montford Point Marines.

Again, we hope that you will be able to take part in one or more of the many exciting events we have planned during our 53rd Anniversary Weekend (October 25-27, 2019) in Chicago, Illinois. For more information please visit www.montfordpointmarineschicago.org to experience firsthand the pride we take in supporting our cause and preserving the legacy of the WWII veterans of Montford Point Camp.

Sincerely,
