December 13th commemorates the birth of the National Guard. The National Guard is the oldest military force in the Department of Defense and will celebrate 383 years of service to our country. The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) begins deciding Blue Water Navy Vietnam Veterans Act of 2019 claims, Jan. 1, 2020, extending the presumption of herbicide exposure that include toxins such as Agent Orange, to Veterans who served in the offshore waters of the Republic of Vietnam during the Vietnam War.

As one of the pioneering women to serve in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II, June Fremont chatted with Eleanor Roosevelt, met Harry Truman and marched with other servicewomen behind the casket during President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s funeral procession.
